Wreck This Journal

An Ode to a Journal

I wrecked this journal once,
I wrecked this journal twice.
It started getting easier
to "not be nice."

I wrecked this journal three times,
and then I wrecked it four.
And my inner "wrecker"
hollered, "I want more!"

I've wrecked it with a pen,
I've wrecked it with some glue.
I've wrecked it with some coffee,
and with some pudding too.

I've yet to take it for a walk,
or with me in the shower.
In fact, the mere thought of it
makes me kind of cower.

A few more weeks of wrecking.
And then what? It's the end?
I'll be sad cause it's become
somewhat of a friend.

Wreck This Journal - Week 5

I played a little more this week and had great fun!

the page that got washed - this was a surprise. I expected it to hold up a little bit better!

this was great! it gave me a perfect reason to sort through my pile of markers and toss old ones.

have I mentioned that I love post-it notes, especially the little page marker flags?

There is so much more going on! Go to The Next Chapter - Wreck This Journal (hosted by Jamie at Starshyne Productions ) and be wowed by all the creative destruction!

Wreck This Journal - Week 3

I was on vacation last week and missed posting for Week 2. But I have been able to go back and admire (lots of ooh's and aahh's!) everyone else's work (aka play). And I can't wait to see what everyone has done this week. I have also really enjoyed all the videos, and I was inspired to give it a try.

While I would normally share a couple of pages from my WTJ, the video took me a little bit of time to get done. So I'm sharing just one page this week -- writing backward. I can write backward as easily as I can write forward. In fact, (this is really weird) I can hold a pen in each hand and write the same word or phrase both forward and backward at the same time. I start in the center and write backward with my left hand and forward with my right hand. It's easiest on a chalk board or a white board, but I can do it on paper too.

I realized I could write backward when I read The DaVinci Code a few years ago. (remember that part? one of the codes?) I tried it a few times and it really wasn't that hard. When I tell someone I can do this, or better yet, show them, the eyebrows go up and they generally look at me like I'm really weird. I kind of think that lots of people could do it, but they've never tried. Have you tried yet?

See you next week. Wreck on!

Wreck This Journal

Where to begin in this book? This is not a serious question, as I know there are no rules and we can begin anywhere we want to. But I am one who can get overwhelmed with too many choices. Thirty one flavors? What? I'll have vanilla.

There are a couple of pages that will be no-brainers for me. (I can write backwards as easily as I can write forwards. Perhaps i should try vlogging that?) And I admit that I've already done one page - writing a single word over and over again. But I think I know which page I'll do first. Isn't there a page where you're supposed to put it under your pillow and sleep on it? Isn't it in the back of the book somewhere? After all that dropping and dragging and burning and staining? Gross! I'm sleeping on it tonight! ;)

Go here for other "wreckers."

Happy wrecking!
